Suggestions for Spring & Garden Wedding Favors

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

It’s that time of year again: The ice has melted and the sun is shining. That means spring and summer weddings are just around the corner. While your guy may be obsessed about basketball this month, you are likely dealing with hundreds of other details for your wedding. It is a different kind of March Madness that doesn’t involve brackets, bubbles, or dancing. Or does it? One of the most overlooked details in all of wedding planning can be the wedding favors placed on each table. What does one do for this detail that can be forgotten only to have a haphazardly placed token at the last minute?

At your spring wedding, you’ll typically incorporate the classic spring colors such as cream, white and pastels. Other favorite colors fall in the teal, peach and green families. The bridesmaids often wear shorter dresses with open necklines, whereas the groom and the groomsmen will often also go with lighter fabrics. You’ll want to match everything with this light, lively look–including your spring wedding favors. To give your wedding the complete atmosphere of spring, use flowers wherever possible. After all, for most people, thoughts of spring are thoughts of bright flowers and butterflies and birds and so forth. It’s exciting finding unique ways to incorporate these ideas into your spring wedding favors. For instance, you can often find favors decorated with spring flowers and creatures. You can even find spring wedding favors that come shaped like fruit. A popular one is the heart-shaped pear.

Free Baby Stuff For New Moms

Monday, March 30th, 2009

There’s nothing more amazing than having a gift of a new child. It’s such a wonderful feeling to finally be given a chance to raise a child of your own, but raising a child can be overwhelming too because of some financial burden associated with a new child. Good thing, you can find free stuff for expecting moms like you.

If you are an expecting mom, you probably are looking for these products: diapers, baby food, skin care products, shampoo and powders, and clothing. These products can help you take care of your new child.

To receive free gifts for baby is such a wonderful thing for parents. But companies are also benefiting from this, giving away free baby products is such an advantage for them. Two reasons: publicity and goodwill, they are both amusing.

These companies are giving away not just products for the baby, but for the moms as well. Skin care products, magazines, and gift certificates are just some of the products the companies offer, so moms can pamper themselves too.

Tips for Choosing Unique Wedding Favors

Sunday, March 29th, 2009

Wedding planning can be daunting. The flowers, the music, the food, the dress, the location, and more all have to be considered to make a perfect day. Everyone seems to have an idea on what dress looks best, the colors that fit the season, and of course, the favors that will make the most lasting impression on your guests.

So now that you understand the importance of selecting unique wedding favors, how do you do so? Keep in mind two words: personal and practical. If you get wedding favors that fit those two criteria, you will have accomplished your goal. However, you should not go overboard with either characteristic. You don’t want someone who really loves the salt shakers taking all of them home for herself, after all!

A common choice in wedding favors, candies and chocolates will be enjoyable to all of your guests. Not only can they prove cost effective, but also are nice to have on hand should time lapse after the ceremony and before the dinner. Try personalized candies in your wedding colors or work with a local confectioner to create something unique. Be as elaborate as a miniature version of your wedding cake or as simple as sugar cookies. Divide up economy size bags of candy to stay price conscious. Consider a food paying homage to your wedding location such as caramel apples or locally produced jam.

Prepare Most Important Event Before a Wedding - Bridal Shower

Saturday, March 28th, 2009

One aspect of getting married that is often overlooked by stores is the bridal or wedding shower. This is not a part of every wedding, but the occasions where it is not done are rare. This is a very special party held prior to the wedding where wedding presents are given to the bride. Rarely, the groom is included and it becomes a wedding shower instead of a bridal shower. Regardless of which scenario is used, it has become customary for the bride to give out small, inexpensive bridal shower favors or the couple to give out wedding shower favors to all those in attendance as a special thank you for the many wedding presents that are received and for the support shown by those present.

Bridal shower favors can be a great deal of fun to give and to receive. They may be serious and sedate or flirtatious and naughty. The overall style and mood of the bridal shower will determine what bridal shower favors are most appropriate, or the bridal shower favors can set the tone of the party. Shopping for bridal shower favors can be almost as much fun as the party itself.

A Bright Day with Spring and Garden Wedding Favors

Only once in a while does one find a wedding to attend that meets or surpasses their expectations. In general, a wedding goes as follows: First, you arrive; wedding gifts and cards in hand. You enter the place the wedding is to be held, meet and greet, or rush to your seat. What follows is potentially one of the most beautiful events you are fortunate enough to witness, or one of the slowest, most unrehearsed fiascos you’ve been forced to endure. We prefer and are used to the latter. After the ceremony, there is generally a reception, where you get to toast to the happy couple, eat food that can be best described as “wedding food,” drink, then go home, probably having accepted table centerpieces as a personal thanks for attendance.

One of the oldest traditions in weddings is the wedding favor, a gesture of appreciation from the bride and groom to their guests for attending the most important steps two people can take together. Ranging from picture frames and shot glasses to candies and candles to cd’s with the bride and groom’s favorite music and gifts that follow the theme of the wedding, these gifts are usually set out on tables during receptions or dinners, and have become a vital part of wedding planning. One of the most delightful instances of wedding favors come when the favors match the theme of the wedding.

Choosing Spring & Garden Wedding Favors

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

As important as it is for wedding decorations, and bridesmaids to be color coordinated, so should your wedding favors. Thematically, spring wedding favors and garden wedding favors may certainly be linked, but the color tones and hues of these must match the setting. A spring wedding may not be held outside, dependant on which region of the country the wedding will take place. “There are differences between colors used at these events,” says a wedding planner friend of mine we’ll call Mary. “It’s important that the wedding favors match not only the floral arrangements, wedding decorations, and attire of the wedding party, but all aspects of the wedding. Wedding favors are often overlooked, and sometimes distracting.” If color is desired for a wedding favor, choosing one will be most important factor.

First let’s discuss spring wedding favors. “Think Easter,” says Mary. “Pastel colors are the best choices for spring. They’re soft and pleasing to the eye without the stigma of distracting attention from the bride.” Colors such as lavender, pinks, or a light turquoise are some of the better choices. Avoid colors such as orange or yellow, and darker color schemes. Blues and grays are obvious horrid choices.

Personal Experience on Shopping for Bridesmaid & Groomsmen Gifts

Wednesday, March 25th, 2009

When a man and woman choose to get married, they are far from the only two people in the wedding party. The bride has her maid of honor and her bridesmaids. The groom has his best man and groomsmen. A flower girl precedes the bride in her procession down the aisle. a ringbearer follows behind carrying the rings on a pillow. It is customary to give gifts for each of these people to receive gifts from the couple. It is usually the duty of the bride to choose the bridesmaid gifts and the maid of honor gifts.

Many factors contribute to choosing the perfect bridesmaid gifts and maid of honor gifts. The closeness of the friendship between the bride and each individual before inviting her to join the wedding party is one of the most important. The theme of the wedding and the colors chosen by the bride are other factors that can contribute to the choice. Possible bridesmaid gifts and maid of honor gifts range in price from less than five dollars to very expensive. The financial status of the bride can contribute to the choice of gifts, but should never be the sole consideration.

Giving Personalized Wedding Favors Makes it Special

Tuesday, March 24th, 2009

I have a drawer in my house where all the boring and useless wedding favors I have received over the years go to collect dust. I’m sure that the brides and grooms who gave out these favors had good intentions but in reality–what can I do with them? I’m sure my friends and family spent a lot of money on these dust-collectors, too. But, with all the weddings I’ve gone to in my life-time I can’t display them all in my curio. And, they are mementos of my friends’ and families’ special days so I feel funny tossing them. So, into the “wedding favor drawer” they go. Give me a practical favor over a useless one any day!

It is commonly believed one can’t go wrong with personalized gifts. This is true. Personalized Wedding Favors give the couple constant reminders not only of their special day but also reminds them of their love for one another and their solid commitment. For instance, if the couple to be have been in love since meeting at Environmentalists Day in college, taking advantage of the Personalized Gerber Daisy Green Woven Favor Boxes or the Blooming Wildflower Seed Packets not only shows how thoughtful you are, but it shows that you, as the perfect friend, care about their being together just as much as they do and have been supporting them since day one.
