Profession: Obsessive Shopper

Saturday, March 13th, 2010

I do not know a single soul who does not love to go shopping. I mean, with each and every new bag, shoes, clothes and accessories coming out of the market every now and then, it is not possible for even a single man or woman to not hunger for something brand new that she or he just got to purchase. I recall exactly how it feels to desire to shop for the latest devices, the newest leather bags, the newest shoes, the trendiest clothes and a luxurious set of jewelry. All of it and so much more. This reminds me of how much most girls thirst to go shopping, even if it’s the last thing they’d do before the end of the world.

Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Prada, Yves Saint Laurent, Hermes. The list goes on and on. These are usually the names that girls call upon when they get ill. These are usually comforting and calming and peaceful words to them. In a number of blokes I know, they call upon Burberry, Calvin Klein, John Varvatos, Dolce & Gabbana and much more. There are a number of brands that guys and girls share too so don’t get confused when you go shopping. Nearly all creative designers have fashion lines fitted to both males and most women, and all these names happen to be answering to 3 of the ultimate with regards to status symbol. VISA, MasterCard and American Express. I know various others but they didn’t make it to the list due to fluctuating fame. I’d rather stick with the giants to play it reliable.

Romantic Times for Romantic Weddings

Friday, March 12th, 2010

The average time of day for most weddings is one o’clock in the afternoon. There is nothing wrong with getting married at one o’clock in the afternoon, if you are an average kind of couple. However, if you are not average, you may want to consider saying your nuptials at a more romantic time of day. Another very popular time to sanctify your faith in one another is at sunset. Pulling in a close third is a fresh and renewing sunrise. To start the day rejoicing in the one you love is always a great idea.

Sunsets are wondrous affairs when shared with the one you love. As you look forward to a lifetime of sunsets together, why not kick your marriage off right and begin with a romantic sunset wedding. This can be particularly gratifying if you are on a beach, by a lake, or even in the mountains.

Water Bottles Need to be Clean to be Safe: How to Clean Your Water Bottle

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

You are doing the right thing for the planet by filling up at home and carrying a reusable water bottle and you’ve chosen a safe, non-toxic bottle-but if it’s not kept clean then it may not be healthy.

Whether your drink bottle is a stainless steel bottle, SIGG bottle or a BPA free plastic water bottle, it is important to stop mould and other deposits forming in the bottle.

Wash your drink bottles with warm, soapy water at the end of every day and let the bottle air dry upside down with the top off every day where possible.

Should any mineral deposits or lime scale form inside, fill your clean water bottle with Distilled White Vinegar and let it soak for 24 hours. Then rinse with warm water mixed with one tablespoon of bicarbonate of soda (baking soda), rinse out and let dry. Spots inside the bottle that look like “corrosion” are most likely a mineral deposit.

Fill your bottle with filtered water wherever possible. It tastes so much better, but also because water contains different minerals in every area this may affect what happens inside your bottle.

What You Have To Be Acquainted With As Regards To Choosing Glassware

Monday, March 8th, 2010

When choosing gifts, glassware has always been a popular choice. There are dozens of shapes, sizes and colors to pick from. The normal wear and tear of life will result in broken items, so replacement is often needed. Drinking containers get broken in the dishwasher, they get dropped on a tiled floor. The chips or cracks may be the result of defects in the material itself, or due to rapid changes in temperature.

The definition of the term applies to any object made of glass, but most people understand it to mean the part of a table setting used for drinking. There are three major categories of glasses. Most households have stemware, tumblers and footed containers.

Tumblers have a straight side that goes all the way down to the flat base. The names of common tumblers are usually related to the drink that is most often served in the glass. A container that holds iced-tea is tall and slim. It may flare slightly from base to top. A juice holder is shorter and wider but still with straight sides. Beer tumblers might be named by the amount of the amount of beer served in the glass.

Having Fun With Elvis Memorabilia

Friday, March 5th, 2010

Do you feel like you’re caught in a trap, one so strong that you just can’t walk out? Is it because you love Elvis memorabilia too much? I can empathize; my mind doesn’t grow suspicious when you proclaim your love for all things Elvis. I can see what they’re doing to you, and I do believe every word you say. Well you are not alone. Collectibles which have anything to do at all with Elvis Presley have been wildly popular for years. They continue today to captivate collectors and Presley fans from around the world.

The gamut of memorabilia runs from the kooky to the esoteric to the sublimely expensive. During a 2009 auction of some of Presley’s personal possessions, the blue jumpsuit and cape with gold lining that Elvis wore during a 1972 performance at Madison Square Garden fetched more than $210,000. A 14KT gold and diamond ring depicting an owl’s face was sold for $40,000.

Do not worry; not all collectibles will cost so much. Online auction and retail outlets are great places to look for great bargains on some nice Elvis merchandise. Check regularly as inventory is always changing. Other good places to search are flea markets and yard sales.

The Missing Link between Fairy Tales and Bridal Shower Favors

Thursday, March 4th, 2010

Do you remember as a small child, watching The Little Mermaid or even Beauty and the Beast? As enchanting as these childhood movies were and still are, they had some familiarities. Everyone knows that the Little Mermaid finds love, and of all places it is not under the sea, just like the main character in Beauty and the Beast.

Both of the main characters in these movies meet their very own personal prince charming. Now you know how the plots play out, they fall into forbidden love of sorts, and get married. Now since there are weddings in these two films, how come we never see any bridal shower favors or wedding shower favors? Were these two strikingly and breathtakingly beautiful princesses deprived of a bridal shower? It seems as though old Walt Disney over looked a couple of things while putting these films together.

Preparing The Move To the Nursery Early

Thursday, March 4th, 2010

When you bring your new baby home, you probably will have the urge to have him close to you all the time, especially when you (attempt to!) go to rest for the night. It feels right to have a cot or cradle in your bed room in the beginning, as it will lessen the distance you’ve to walk to handle nighttime feedings.

You are able to attempt shifting the baby into his nursery for sleeps right from the outset, to attempt to reduce any stress or anxiousness by moving him into a new space with brand new smells and sights when he is a little older. Relax with him or her in a rocker or glider and rock him to sleep at first, then switch him into his cot.

Later on, you can put him in his cot and if he’s fussy or cannot get to sleep, try sitting down near the crib for a few evenings till he falls asleep. Then move the chair further away for another week or so. Finally, position the chair close to the entry, so the child gets used to falling asleep without being right next to you.

Wedding Favors For Different Cultures

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

With the world becoming a smaller place as the internet and efficient airline companies link everyone; it is no wonder that more mixed marriages are taking place all over the world. It is indeed common to hear of a man from the west marrying a girl from the east. Hence, today, Indian, Korean, Japanese and Malay weddings have become the norm among people all over the world. Very often, couples meet in the glamorous capitals of the world like London, New York and Paris. Yet, when it comes to settling down, they would rather return to their country of origin where family and friends are, to have a traditional and more meaningful wedding.

At times, two wedding ceremonies are held. For instance, if a western man marries an Asian girl from India, you might hear of them having both a church and temple wedding. This would call for twice the amount of planning, yet it has been done to appease both the bride and groom’s families. It is also done as a form of respect to the couple’s upbringing and cultural backgrounds.
