Do you remember as a small child, watching The Little Mermaid or even Beauty and the Beast? As enchanting as these childhood movies were and still are, they had some familiarities. Everyone knows that the Little Mermaid finds love, and of all places it is not under the sea, just like the main character in Beauty and the Beast.
Both of the main characters in these movies meet their very own personal prince charming. Now you know how the plots play out, they fall into forbidden love of sorts, and get married. Now since there are weddings in these two films, how come we never see any bridal shower favors or wedding shower favors? Were these two strikingly and breathtakingly beautiful princesses deprived of a bridal shower? It seems as though old Walt Disney over looked a couple of things while putting these films together.

With the world becoming a smaller place as the internet and efficient airline companies link everyone; it is no wonder that more mixed marriages are taking place all over the world. It is indeed common to hear of a man from the west marrying a girl from the east. Hence, today, Indian, Korean, Japanese and Malay weddings have become the norm among people all over the world. Very often, couples meet in the glamorous capitals of the world like London, New York and Paris. Yet, when it comes to settling down, they would rather return to their country of origin where family and friends are, to have a traditional and more meaningful wedding.
At times, two wedding ceremonies are held. For instance, if a western man marries an Asian girl from India, you might hear of them having both a church and temple wedding. This would call for twice the amount of planning, yet it has been done to appease both the bride and groom’s families. It is also done as a form of respect to the couple’s upbringing and cultural backgrounds.

One of the most annoying things when sitting down at a reception is the enormous size of the centerpiece. They tower and you end up playing peek-a-boo with the person sitting across from you. Sometimes the centerpiece is so huge you can’t even see the person on the opposite side of the table. Guests start cracking jokes about how they can’t see and they can’t enjoy the company. Here are five great ideas for unique centerpieces that stay low to the table and allow people to actually see one another.
The following centerpiece ideas fit any wedding’s theme, color, or season. Essentially, they are jump off points where you allow your imagination and personality to shine through. Most importantly, they stay low to the table so guests easily see one another. If you insist on large centerpieces, make the height high enough and the trunk thin enough so people can still have a conversation with the entire table.

This year’s elegance in wedding style trends is extending a bit from the traditional white with black tux to bold elegant sashes on the brides and grooms vests in the color of the bridesmaids dresses. While white will forevermore be the color of weddings, the color scheme has expanded to a splashing stage for 2010. And, for the wedding theme, whether bright, bold color, or soft pastels, the theme is traditional elegance.
There is something sheer magical about the special day and having everything fit perfectly into place, right down to the wedding favors. For the bride and groom, the wedding favors are a big place in the wedding, as they are giving their guests a memorable token of the special day and a day that marks the beginning of their new life together. And, for the elegant wedding, the wedding favors must be elegant as well.

My wedding has to be exciting and fun and definitely memorable. Since we decided to go with a professional wedding planner a lot of my time has been spoken for. I never actually realized or appreciated the complexity of taking on someone else’s wedding. You or more appropriately the wedding planner have (has) to contend with all the intricacies as well as all of the unforeseen and inescapable problems, disagreements, discrepancies etc. etc. that seem to crop up almost every day. As the bride-to-be I thought I had it tough: well, not so tough compared to my planner. He is simply out of this world, and I mean that with all respect and growing awareness of the pressures he juggles daily. I bless and thank my cousin, Jersie who also happens to be one of my closest friends and ally for convincing me to let Danny take over.
Jersie and I were in the mall the other day, and every store we passed or went into was piping music out as if the shoppers were octogenarians and close to deafness. Aside from the unbearable loudness, you could barely distinguish what kind of music was coming from which store. We got so fed up we left rather quickly, but not before I started thinking about what kind of music/band I wanted for my wedding. And my next thought was how I could reinterpret the idea of music into a wedding favor. Sounds weird, maybe, but I love a challenge.

As the holiday season now officially starts many brides are already about to have their holiday and winter weddings. However for the bride still planning their event, there are many other great times this winter to have their winter wedding. One great example is a January wedding. A January wedding has many advantages. It is after the bustle of the holiday season, it during the wedding off season, and you can find many interesting themes to use for the wedding. Here are some great ideas that you can use for a January wedding.
The first great idea is a New Year’s wedding. This is perfect since January is the first month of the New Year. Also New Year’s is also appropriate because they are also synonymous with new beginnings which a wedding is for you and your groom. The best part is the glamour and glitz that is possible with a New Year’s theme everyone knows the look from classic movies or seeing New Year’s Eve celebrations on TV every year. This allows you to decorate your wedding venue in a sophisticate and astounding manner that you may not be able to do as effectively with other winter wedding themes. It also does not emphasize flowers which will be a boon especially during January when most flowers will have to be imported or grown in a hot house. As you know that means higher prices that can put a stranger on an otherwise well planned budget.

What sets a celebrity wedding from the thousands if not millions of smaller weddings that go on in the United States? Money is an obvious answer, but it is not the complete story. It is also how money is spent that sets apart the weddings of the rich and famous. The interesting thing about weddings is that many of the innovations that are now commonplace were passed down from the rich. For example, wedding favors were a French innovation that was done at the ceremonies of rich French nobles. So even if they are on a whole different level a celebrity wedding has some interesting features that even the average bride can incorporate into her own nuptials. Here are some examples.
Many high end marriage ceremonies for the rich and famous are held at exclusive and unique locations. Madonna got married to Guy Ritchie at a Scottish castle. Brad Pitt and Jennifer Anniston got married at a secluded estate in southern California. Each of these locations was exotic or exclusive. The way that you the average bride can do the same is finding an interesting location in your area. It may be a vineyard, at a golf resort, or at a well known hotel. An innovative idea is to have the honeymoon and the ceremony at the same location.
